Joe has been practicing law since 2002, founding The Romano Law Firm in 2003. He is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan and Ohio State Bar Associations, the Columbus Credit Education Coalition the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He was twice named an Ohio “Rising Star” and is currently a five-time “Super Lawyer” in consumer bankruptcy. Along with his private practice, Joe also serves as a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee in the Northern District of Ohio in the Cleveland Division.
Joe grew up in North Royalton and received his BA from Bowling Green State University. He has an MPA with a specialization in Judicial Affairs from the University of Southern California and received his law degree from Case Western Reserve University. Prior to practicing law he was an assistant to Deputy Mayor Bill Violante in the Office of Public Safety for the Honorable Richard Riordan, Mayor of the City of Los Angeles.
In his personal life, Joe is a member of the Northeast Ohio Italian-American Association (NOIA) where he serves on the Governance Committee. He and his spouse, Rebecca, and their dog, Enzo Ferrarri, call Bay Village home. In their free time they enjoy hiking the U.S. National Park System, playing board games and reading.
